Just read the article about Trent Grimsley, he mentioned that he was on the blood type diet. Has anybody tried this, sounds interesting. I just read my type characteristics -Type O, they seem to have me pegged. Would love to hear some feedback from anybody who has tried this system. Thanks.
I read that book about 10 years ago or so, and I really liked the historical stuff of when and how blood types evolved. But I think the rest of it is mostly like astrology. You will read into it what you want to. Of course it seems to make some sense on the face of it, but it does not take into account all the changes in the last 10,000 years of our evoloution. I’m sure there are small parts that can be said for a majority of people, but that is as far as I would go, and who knows which parts.
Whenever talking about diets, I always come back to two extreme examples of cultures that have adapted to an almost exclusive diet. You have your Alaskan natives who live on a primarily fish, fat, protien diet. Not much brocolli growing up there. And then you have your Taraharmau indians who eat primarily corn. Both cultures healthy and happy, but would die if they had to eat each others diet, or at the very least get sick. Don’t really know their blood types, or even if they are dominated by one, but my point is that they have evolved out of nessecity, and are doing quite fine now, regardless of blood type. That has happened to all of us to some extent over the last 10,000 years, and to think that just from blood type you can predict your perfect diet, is just more astrology… I think I remember that tomatoes were poison to all blood types too, imagine italians not being able to eat their pasta sauce anymore…
Like I said it can be a convincing narrative if you are predisposed to believing it, just like every other diet that has come and gone over the last 50 years. They all have their raps, and if you are open and do not question their science, they can suck you right in…
But if they get you to eat healthier than you have been, then at least you have that going for you…
They’re making True Blood now?
*edit-wow, they actually are:http://www.trubeverage.com/
With the popularity of the new series on HBO, you had to know that was coming…
Using blood type to define your diet is almost as random as using hair colour. Look into how blood typing was created and the reasons for it.
