Well, my season is over and with a disappointing end. 2nd on the swim,3rd on the bike and 16TH ON THE RUN for a 6th place overall. Damn. Well I know where I have to work this offseason.
Also give me your thoughts. My shoulders and neck are killing me today and I am worried it is because my bike is too small. I ride a planet x stealth and it has felt great thus far. I am 6’7" and am wondering if the top tube is too small. What is a good frame for big boys
What distance was it? Alot of people ride way to hard then their run suffers. I wouldnt be disappointed still a great result.
Olympic. I just had no legs off the bike
Don’t feel bad, I went half way around the world to Gold Coast Worlds and was basically last in both my races. Back forced me to limp, but at least I did not walk.
Who cares, I had a great time anyways!!!
Dave
It’s an olympic, you’ll be recovered by next weekend, just do another. On the legs/finish, I did one tri (sprint) this year 525/5/25 for 29th overall…by my reckoning, you look like a triathlete!
How was your race rehearsals? Do you do race specific (intensity) training? I am not a great swimmer, a pretty good biker, but I usually pass alot of people on the run. I have to remind myself to slow down on the bike so I do not kill my run. You can easily do another race. Try doing a duathlon or two. It will help with your running and bike pacing(your already tired from the first leg). Do you normally have trouble with the run? If you do training like a runner might help more. Im not saying doing a marathon but some good 2-3 months of consistent running we do real fine for your racing. Check out this article it might help you, http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244--12627-0,00.html
Did you ride too hard, or do you just suck at running?
That’s not a very nice way to ask that question but you get what I mean
You overpaced your swim and bike and blew up on the run.
At 6'7", it's hard to be one of the top runners. Obviously he's fast, and/or fitness is high, but a guy with physical stats like that is generally good to go top 10 on the run after 3/2 in the other legs. Of course it all depends on the depth of the field.
I’m 6 4 and when I was looking the fitters were thinking custom but the P2c 61 was good for me, you might squeeze onto a 63 maybe look at getting a custom guru.
As for the run, stuff happens, I had one race where I ran a PB in a 70.3 and then 2 months later with a well paced swim and bike run fell to pieces on the run, its not always pacing sometimes shit just happens. It was much hotter, was your race hot and humid, if so that could explain the run falling apart, us bigger units just have more surface area to cool
Yeah I am thinking custommay be the best option.
It was in the gulf. Mid nineties and sticky. I know I have got to work on the run this winter cause I know that is my weakest leg by far
mid ninties and sticky and bigger than me always gonna be hard
