I have tested this already last year. The fabric is simply not supportive enough (I am talking support of the family jewels), so it ain’t going to happen anytime soon with the Skin Cooler fabric as is now. I am however designing a new weave to see how that works for future garments.
I just got my coolwings in the mail. I’m going on a 4 hour ride on Sunday, I’ll let you know how they perform. I have serious problems with sunburning, so hopefully this + the standard SPF 60 shellacing will do the trick.
I’ve still got my race # from 2 weeks ago cooked into my shoulder.

What if you made side panels out of it? and had the front/back panels of the short out of the cooler material?
Thought of that too. Again, the fabric is great for tops and sleeves and helmet beanies. Mixing fabrics of different stretch characteristics gets tricky and if it is not done properly, you get a garment that looks cheap and that wears out faster in the part that is more fragile. I think you will find that our Forza Tri Shorts are quite cool (temperature-wise) already.
Please send some of your innovative, forward thinking items to TTT for next year. My nipples still have not healed from that jersey we wore this year!!
In fact we are almost done sewing them
I have this picture in my head of you frantically sewing with one hand and posting on Slowtwitch with the other.
As always Emilio, you are the best!! Great products. I’ll be ordering a few things this evening when I get home.
Now here’s an idea for you. Can you combine your helmet beanie (both your Skin Cooler™ and your winter beanie) with this product for good protection from other hazards besides just UV radiation? http://zapatopi.net/afdb/
