And when will DeSoto takeover Europe? Bringing stuff from the US is becaming harder by the day with all this new customs taxes. We end up paying twice the price.
Emilio, are all your running shorts made of the same material? I have 2 pair of the tuesday run shorts and the material seems a bit stiff and doesn’t absorb at all. Went for a run last night and the sweat just drips off the back of the shorts and onto my legs.
The fabric of the Torrey, Lomas, and Playa Runshorts is different that the tuesday runshorts of 2006 and older. Back then we used Supplex. It was good but not great. It wrinkled really easily and got stiff over time.
The 2007 shorts shown here are made of a fabric that we designed that we call Micro-Surf™ Denier. This is a soft micro-denier polyester similar to a lightweight surf-trunk material, so it is non-abrasive even when wet. It has a wrinkle-free sheen, dries fast, and drapes comfortably on your body. Micro-Surf does not shrink, pill, or deform so your De Soto garment will take you through many training sessions and still look new.
I run in the Playa exclusively. But I find it depends mostly on age. It seams like older men (55+) wear the Torrey because they like the mid-thigh thing, 30-55 age wear the Lomas, and guys under 30 wear the Playa, probably because they grew up in the big baggy era. It is probably very similar to the change in length of basketball shorts.
Now I will admit, I am 47, and I wear to Playa as a run short, a surf trunk, to play tennis (each pocket holds 2 tennis balls), I do Yoga in them, and even as official work attire here at De Soto. I have them on as I type. I like the look, and the fit…and well…they make me look younger.
Thanks, gonna buy some. On another note, I struggle to find a good fit in the training tops. Sometime LG is too large but MED is way too small, and even sometimes the XL is is more like a LG depending upon the maker. I an 6’0 195-205ish 43-44 jacket size. What size top would you steer me towards MED or LG in your De Soto brand? Thanks Again, Dutchy
Love your Lomas run shorts, they are all I run in. One question though, why is shipping for 1 pair of shorts that weigh virtually nothing $10 from California to Washington?
We have a fixed cost for shipping. So if you buy 1 pair or if you buy 4 pair, it is the same price of $10.00. Actually, I don’t want to confuse you, but right now if you order over $125.00 in product, then shipping is free.
