Also to the original poster, I don’t think this makes him the greatest of all time. Mark Allen was pretty good at olympic distance races, and won six races in Kona. Gomez seems like he’ll be pretty dang good come long course time. Crowie won several long course world titles. This comment is as premature as a 17 year old on prom night.

dude i disagree with you. there is no spoiler headline necessary for an event that won’t be on TV for another 6 weeks.
however - i’m not sure the point of this post. if you are on-line right now on a triathlon forum there is probably a 100% chance you are also following the IMWC.

Exactly. No one is saying don’t talk about it…just don’t put it in the thread title. This isn’t a hard concept to understand. (Leaving aside that there was really no need for this separate thread…it could easily have been part of the race coverage thread and no one would have cared. )

But in any event, if you are coming to a triathlon forum on the biggest day of triathlon and not expect to see anything about the biggest race in the sport of triathlon, I think it’s you “who just doesn’t get it”.

If you’re worried about spoilers in the Ironman world championships maybe don’t go to a major triathlon website message board an hour after the winner crossed the finish line. It’s like going to espn.com an hour after the Super Bowl ends and expecting not to find out who won.

raelert and o’donell came out of nowhere for me, i thought raelert was a bit too old to pull a podium at hawaii but i always hoped he’d do well. i’m kinda disappointed sebi didn’t do as well as he’s capable of he didn’t seem very confident in his pre race interviews i was hoping he’d get another gold. i was hoping romain guillaume would place top 10 again too cause he reps us short guys!!! i think cal milward bonked and that guy is the best lmao he is hilarious!! top 5 for me would’ve been
