maybe gary tingley has some…
It’s no rumor…the latest issue of either Triathlete Mag or Inside Triathlon (can’t remember which) has an ad for it.
I’d like to race one.
I have heard of no such thing. But good gawd, I can’t imagine trying to control that thing. I had a heck of a time with a 404 front last week on a very gusty day. Yeesh.
Have had an email from David Bunce at Blackwell, info available in December, release (along with the recently discussed aerobars) in January 2006.
100mm isn’t all that deep - the 404’s are 58mm. what are some of the newer zipps, like the 606/808, or the old Hed Deep?
-mike
808 is 81mm deep.
Deepest HED which was shown at Interbike is the Stinger 90, which is 90mm, similar to the old Hed Deep.
I will measure my Hed Jet Deep today to see what it measures out at.

HED Deep is 90mm. There’s also a Stinger 90 now.
I have the new Hed stinger 90, and it is exactly 90mm deep…and exactly 100 grams heavier than advertised.
The advertised weight is 938g and they’re actually 1038g?
I have the front rather than the rear, which is the weight that you posted, and up until today the Hed website listed the weight of the front as 640g(mine weighs 740g). I emailed Hed on monday about the weight difference and they said that they were sorry, but that the test wheels weighed less than the production units. I guess they adjusted the weight on the website to now say 730…which is close enough. The front is listed in my catalog as 650g.
Other than that, and the air bubbles under the decals, and the truing needed out of the box…they appear very nice and I expect the ride to be similar to the 808’s I rode last year and the toughness and durability of the Hed Stinger 50’s I ride also.
