Black Monday 2026

Lion’s have reached out to McDaniel to be their OC.

I like it.

Harbaugh’s agent is the son of the former Packers president.

could Lafluer be out with Harbaugh in?

First hiring domino falls.

Report is Harbaugh to Giants.

The Bills have fired McDermott.

A .500 record in the playoffs will do that.

One would think..

I don’t know about the Bills firing McDermott.

It seems like the Bills’ fate often came down to a one pivotal play here and there that swings a game – Allen missing an open receiver, or making a winning run, or benefiting from a dubious pass interference call… Either could have made a different outcome. And none of those should be on McDermott, good or bad.

However, if there’s a systematic issue that indicates no progress (I’m looking at NYG’s GM selections), then that warrants a change.

  • Steelers excepted

But as coach, you’re the leader of the team so it is on you. I think it’s partly due to him not being able to rein back Wannabe Superman Josh when more than good enough Josh should’ve won games instead of trying to be the hero.

Am sure the Giants job is exciting to him, but Harbaugh would have looked good there.

Or The Raiders. I think he could make the Raiders fun team to watch.

Agree. I’m just waiting to see if the Titans really are going to hire Matt Nagy (reported) or will they continue to do stupid things. If their GM (ex-Chiefs) can get past the stupidness of their owner, they may be a decent team in the future.

The Raiders are a dumpster fire. Can’t believe a established coach would want that job.

Stefanski is probably kicking himself for taking the Falcons job. He would have been a good fit in Buffalo.

McDermott may be a good fit in Pittsburgh.

Maybe Roger could put all of the head coaches names into a hat at the end of the year and pick one out random style so every team gets a new head coach every year. That might be fun.

On one hand, I don’t see why any coach would take a new job before the season is totally over, and all of the opportunities reveal themselves

On the other, who would’ve ever expected that 1/3 of the franchises would clear out their HC (Tomlin resigned, I know, but it’s still a vacancy)

I suppose you have to hop on that train when you can, or risk getting left behind

That is what I was hoping for, but alas we brought back LaFleur.

My question is.. who out there that’s available is a step up? McDermott has his flaws as does every head coach. I think this move is knee-jerk and borderline terrible. Promote Beane to president, the guy who can’t put WRs on the field for Josh. But there too, Beane is good at his job. Should have left things in place. This isn’t a systematic failure in Buffalo. This is the NFL and playoffs are tough. You keep making it and giving yourself chances. I don’t know.

Ordinarily I’d be in 100% agreement with that. With Tom Brady as a minority owner now, I’d hope Mark Davis steps back some and let’s smarter heads prevail.

As a Broncos fan I hope Mark Davis continues with business as usual.
