Anyone know a training group up there? I’m headed up this weekend for a wedding and was hoping to get in a good OW or pool swim and a 1.5-2hr run.
Googled it, but didn’t find anything…

Here is a link to a Birmingham Tri Club. http://www.vulcantri.com/ also if you check out www.team-magic.com there are some links to Birmingham based bike shops and coaches who can probably help you find out about any group rides and where to swim.

There is an organized ride Saturday morning but I get this feeling that you are not bringing your bike. http://www.alagames.com/index.php?page=sport_cycl
On Sunday morning there are a lot of people who run from Brownell Travel at 6:30. I (David Meadows) will most likely be there.
As for an OW swim, you will have to go out to Oak Mt.
yeah i managed to dig up some folks from BSC to run with, but looks like i’ll have to do the Y for the swim.
thanks for the heads up, but you’re right, i’m not bringing my bike. (though I wish i had time, those hills are waaaaay better than the crap we have here in fl)
My fiancee and I just bought a home in the area ( Alabaster / Pelham). We move in 2 days.
I am very interested in learning of safe riding routes around Hwy. 17. if anyone you know lives in the area and wouldn’t mind giving me a few quick tours of the riding in the area, as well as the running and swimming ( I am yet to locate a pool), I would be eternally grateful.
Ciao,
