. . . is like trying to understand U.S. history while maintaining that the Civil War never happened.
(West Virginia was obviously created by divine intervention.)

God is a cruel, cruel being.
There was no civil war. Only the War of Northern Aggression.
The earth is flat and the stars revolve around us. Who needs science or reality?

Actually, the belief that stars revolve around us was popularized by a scientist (Aristotle). In fact, his theory was so good that it stood as common knowledge for ~2500 years.
Just for the record, I took US History II: Reconstruction to Present to fill that requirement.
Look, I’m not trying to say that I don’t believe in history. It’s just that there are several different theories about what happened between 1861 and 1865. Nobody who’s still alive actually SAW the Civil War happen. We only have indirect evidence, such as old trenches in fields, cannonballs stuck in buildings, Ken Burns documentaries, etc. God might have created all of those realistic-looking black and white photos as a test of our faith.
But anyway, the rest of U.S. History is true, and can be explained without resorting to highly speculative “theories” that some sort of war happened.
Just for the record, I took US History II: Reconstruction to Present to fill that requirement.
Obviously, this “Reconstruction” is highly speculative and unproven, also.

Unfortunately for Galileo and others.
