Bio-tech Sales People, a time question

Any Bio-tech sales reps out there who do tri’s. I am wondering becaue I am thinking about getting into the field (if I can find a position close enough to home, thus far everything has been too far away) and was wondering if you have adequate time to train for your races. It seems like any ther sales job, demanding, time consuming but allows for some range of flexibility in your schedule. Are there times you can just schedule a longer ride on a nice day if you don’t have meetings or calls set up(if you work from home) Thanks for any info

Biotech companies come in many shapes, sizes and cultures so the less-than-helpful but appropriate response is “it depends”.

I work for a small biotech and can generally fit a 1h training session in over lunch and my long run on Fridays. Same as any other job, this is easier to justify if you are performing and making your numbers. I may not have been as comfotable doing this in my 20’s, but then again I wasn’t doing tris back then.

Not in bio-tech, but software sales. If you work from home and are hitting your numbers, no one can say anything.

If you aren’t hitting your numbers, you betting not even think about working out during work hours. At least that is my take on it.

I only travel a couple of days once every couple of weeks, so I just build those in as rest periods.
