I will be in Omaha, NE 8/16 - 8/18 and am taking my road bike. Does anyone have any hints on where to ride? Will be staying in the downtown area.
Thanks

What type of ride are you looking for? Omaha has over sixty miles of bike trails that re pretty good if you want long and flat, I use them often. I don’t know downtown very well but there are a couple of routes out west that I use pretty regularly. I’ll see if I can post a link to a map of the trail system.
Just need someplace I can get in a couple of hours without getting run over. Long and flat is fine.
Thanks
Here is a link to the trail system in Omaha.

The link is a pain to print so unless you have a great printer, I would plan your route while you are looking at your PC.
Here are a couple of suggestions:
From downtown get on I-80 west and take it to hwy 75 (South kennedy freeway) like you are going to Bellevue, because you are. Take that to hwy 370 it’ll take a good 15-20 minutes. Go west on 370 and start looking for good places to park because you are close to the trail head. I’ve never started from here so I don’t have any good parking tips. From here either pick up the trail and take the options you see on the map, or just ride hwy 370. 370 is a good riding hwy with a wide shoulder and some hills. take it west and out and back will give you a good long ride.
Have fun,
Marty
