Hi all. Below is a list of bikes and gear that were stolen from Heather Fuhr and Roch Frey’s garage last night. Heather and Roch would greatly appreciate any assistance in locating the stolen bikes and/or identifying the perpetrators. Some of the equpiment is custom, and should be easy to identify, such as Heather’s race bike, which appears in K2’s ads in the recent editions of Triathlete Magazine.

In addition, a duffle bag of Multisports.com Clothing – Cycling Jersey’s and Cycling shorts was stolen.

Too bad, that’s a lot of merchandise. The ex-cop in me has to believe the thieves knew exactly what they were stealing and who they were stealing it from - I would bet everything’s been reduced to parts by now. Keep an eye on ebay and such for parts.

If that’s a home number, I’d consider editing your post and removing it.

Tell them to keep an eye on the Reader classifieds, both the print version and www.sdreader.com. I helped a friend recover a stolen Trek 2300 once, after the dumbass thief advertised it for sale there.

Yep, all except for the window they came through.

That’s a lot a stuff man… :frowning: I’m sorry for them…

I would also monitor eBay… It’s the best way to sell that kinda of stuff.

Good luck.

Man, that really sucks. I’ve met Roch and Heather at a few different IM events and they seem like very nice down to earth people. I hope they catch the SOB.

That really sucks!!!

The only consolation I cansee is that Heather is lucky enough that there is probably a long line of comapanies out there that will replace this stuff for free.

Unlike us Grunts

that totally bites. i would be pissed. this definitley sounds like an inside job. you don’t just pull your truck up to someone’s house and haul of 13 rigs. you have to know what’s in there, how to get it and when to get it. additionally, someone has to store this stuff before they can fence it and i assume some of these will be hard to fence.

given the fact pattern i think if the police do their job and get in contact with local storage facilities to see who rented in the last week and heather and roch think about who would know what is behind door #1, that this case will get cracked before the bikes make it too far.

Ouch. That blows man. I really hope they get everything back.

They must have known what was there. I mean, 13 bikes, you’re going to need a sodding big truck to put that lot in, you’re not going to get them into the back of a pickup.

Either they were stolen to order, or will appear on Ebay. Mind you, with some of them being highly custom, they might well get broken just for parts. You’d probably be able to shift them for more money, with less chance of getting caught by selling the parts separately. May not even be worth the bother of selling some of the custom frames, as they’re too easily identifiable.

Unless the theives are stupid (unlikely as they must have known what they were going for) my guess is you won’t see them on the open market in the form they were stolen. This is the common way that stolen motorcycles make money.

J.

Sounds like a inside job

Here’s a photo of Heather’s Ironman LP bike:

(of course, it’s probably stripped by now…but you get the idea of what the frame paint scheme is/was—but I’m pretty sure that fizik saddle is a custom color, so may be unique)
