Flying on ASA (Delta Connection) to a race. Plane for one leg is an AT7 Turboprop. There should be room for a bike case in the luggage hold, right? Seems like I was on something similar in Europe. (couldn’t hold a lot of bikes, but at least a few).
and what is the latest on bike charges through Delta? Is it still $80 or have they gone up?
There should be space, but if you’re talking ASA through Atlanta, they don’t have the greatest record of getting your luggage to your destination in a timely manner.

I do believe ASA just got rated the WORST on time record for 07 so far. 53% on time or something? Anyway, use caution. Me, I’d ship my bike using common carrier (UPS or something). But that’s me
thanks for input. the flight does connect through Atlanta. And I’m asking really for a friend who is doing IM Canada and hasn’t yet packed the bike to be shipped, so it’s either going to be a few Benjamins or take it on the plane, I fear, at this point, to make sure it’s there on time.
The answer to your question is yes there should be plenty of room in the baggage but without getting into overly technical discussions, there are considerations such as passenger/baggage loading at higher elevation airports in more temperate areas (Albuquerque, Denver, El Paso, Las Vegas, Phoneix, Tuscon - to name a few).
