Bikes of previous tour winners

I’ve just seen the “Trek… Five time winning bike of the Tour De France” commercial for the zillionth time. But it got me thinking: How many times have other bike manufacturers won?

I know Pinarello and Colnago had a few. Gitane claims “10 tour de france wins” (but then lists more than ten at http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/Gitane/history.htm). Trek has their five.

Surely someone has compiled a list of this stuff, but my googling skills have let me down trying to find it. Anyone?

“Huffy” won a few stages, didn’t they (7/11)?

It’s the legs.

Some of the Tour winners will never be published. An oft-rebadged aluminium bike called Sabliere (or is it Salbierre) had won several stages of the Tour with nobody even knowing what it is, and they are sooooo bloody expensive and rare that few will ever own one.

Back in the day you could paint the frame in team colors and use just about any frame you wanted to. With all the cameras and coverage today I don’t think that would fly.

bobo,

I presume your just having fun, but those Huffy bikes were rebadged Serottas. No one has ever won the Tour de France on a Huffy!
