hi - I am riding a Fuji D6 – running great – no weird sounds, or brake rubbings, etc… but recently on steep uphills, there are times where it feels like there is a significant “retarding force” on the back wheel – I can’t hear anything rubbing but it’s almost like the rear wheel has been glued to the road – any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks – josh
It could be wheel and frame flex causing rubbing of the tire and the seat tube. You can try backing the rear wheel away from the set tube. to see if you are getting rubbing, one option is to put chalk on the back side of the seattube and see where/if the wheel rubs it off.
It could be gravity, I’ve heards it sucks.

thanks for the help - really appreciated.
Has the nut on the seat gotten bigger lately?
there is NO WAY it could be the operator – I am perfect – actually – it really is the tire rubbing on the inside of the seat post.
Hi Jkahan,
What did you do about this?
Were you able to resolve the issue?
What size wheels / what kind of wheels do you have?
Thanks,
YT
hi – i ended up backing off the wheel in the drop outs a little bit (the drop our horizontal) – this stopped all my 700c wheels from rubbing against the Fuji’s massive seatpost rear fork assembly.
