Bike Trainer

I’m about to buy a bike trainer for the winter and wondered what you guys would recommand. I readed some of the previous post on the matter and am now thinking about the 1up and the tacks(because I can buy it here). Some questions about the 1up. How do you change the resistance? do you have to get off the bike to change it? Does it tell you how much watt you generate?

Thank’s for your comments

Richard

Don’t take the lack of reponses personally. It’s just that this topic has been beaten to death in many, many previous posts. It seems several people are happy with the 1up trainer. It will not provide power data. Use the search function below to find trainer opinions ad nauseum.

You don’t change resistance on a 1up. As your wheel goes around faster, the unit increases resistance, just like on a real road. It’s a nice natural progression and works great. The 1up gives you no readout of power. You would need a Powertap wheel or SRM cranks to do that.
