Bike tools?

I’m new to bike maintenance, and want to get a took kit that’s inexpensive but not total junk. I’ve looked at performance bike to find some sets. They sell Spin Doctor, Ascent, Park tools, and SG T2 tool kits. I’m looking to get the best bang for the buck under $200. I ride a kestrel km40, but would like a kit that can be used on mountain bikes as well. Any suggestions?

This one is pretty comprehensive for most general maintenance:

This one has some overkill on the tools, but is alot more convienent tool-wise.

I would personally stay away from the Ascent stuff. It’s pretty cheap tooling. The Spin Doctor is a mixed bag. Alot of it is outsourced from different manufacturers.

The Park AK-32 can be had for close to $200 on eBay if you’re lucky. I got a brand new AK-32 for ~$215. Stick to Park, though. They are the best. Pedro’s are also very good.

I will 2nd that AK-32 on Ebay. Last month I got it for 174.95 plus 26.95 shipping. Great set to have…
