Bike Stolen

We had a BMC Pro Machine with full Campy Record stolen today from our store Swim Bike and Run in Miami. An African American(stated because my boss saw him, if this offends anyone i have no problems removing it) man came it and when the boss was busy with a customer he walked out the opposite door with the bike, it had no pedals so i wonder just how far he will get. Also it wasnt the first time he was in here according to the owner…Cops know, local Tri club has been notified. Apparently it wasnt the first time the guy was in the store. We now have a cop parked outside our store!

Any particular reason you emphasize that it was a black man? Couldn’t you have just said “a man”? (And unless he was born there and came here, he’s black, he’s not “African American”, any more than I’m “Irish American”. F’k that. I’m white, he’s black, and that dude over there is a pale yellow.)

no no completely real lol

im pissed he stole the second most expensive bike in our store…i have the serial number for the bike its FM2712, we now keep the bikes locked for security reasons
.

I guess you would want to know what that the guy on that BMC looked like. Wouldn’t you?

Thanks that was my exact thought
.

What kind of circus you guys are running there? You notice the guy, and not notice while he is taking out a big ass bike?

Oh, good thinking! A black man in Miami, yeah, that should narrow it down quite a bit.

theres a two hour gap in between me getting in to work from school and another co worker leaving for class so during that period its just the owner alone, ironic that today was also the day the mechanic was gone so thre was NO ONE else but the owner and a customer, both saw him and gave the cops a description… Owner says its not the first time the guys in here so he obviously knew exactly what to go for!! #$@#)_

I’m not the OP, but I would guess he identified the thief’s race to help find the guy and the bike. I fail to see any racism here.

“Hey who did it?” … The black guy, the white guy, the lady in the blue shirt, etc. If he just said “a man” would you accuse him of being a chauvinist as well? I mean why does it matter that he is a man anyway? Jeez!

Perhaps, “A human stole a bike” would please you?

I was confused too when I first read this because it said " “I like to ride off the front so I can watch the helicopter” Faris Al Sultan" at the end and I was like what the heck? Now I realize it is your sig line. Might be worth putting a space in there somehow or putting a ------------- above it or something.

Anyway I hope you find the bike and the person who stole it.

I’ve always wondered why they don’t put the alarm strips on bikes like they do on library books, etc., or keep the display bikes on racks without their front wheels…

Apparently the guy had a buddy in a car waiting too…

Who sent out the PC police?

Some of these people should lighten up. I’m sure you told the cops something like “we saw a black guy steal our bike”. That’s a description. I fail to see “racism” in this.

you know i have tried to fix that like 3 times already lol
.

LOL thanx for the humor it was lacking here!

Matches the description of the guy who stole fitty’s bike.

That strikes me as a no-brainer. Perhaps zip-tie a piece of cloth to the seatpost, and clip one of those thingies they have attached to shirts at the Gap?

You would have… if you were a black guy and driving to a race and a cop stops, asks you where did you “find” the bike???

No, but to just say “An african american” is just as helpful as saying “Some dude”. Height? Weight? Limps and has 47 gold teeth? Missing the left butt cheek? Something that might actually help identify him.

Heh. I’d hate to be a black guy on a BMC Pro riding by the shop on a training ride in the next couple days…

John

oh no lets be careful we don’t want Al Sharpton in ST.
Maybe he was Haitian?
