Bike Stickers

I don’t like some of the decals on my new bike. Anyone have any tips on getting these off?

What kind of bike is it?

Cannondale IM2000. Great fit. Great ride. But the M-Dot stickers need to go.

If they are on top of the finish, you should be able to just peel them off. I suspect, though, that they may be clear-coated in. In which case you can either re-paint it, or settle for covering them up with some decals of your own.

If they are on top of the paint, I’ve gotten them off using Goo-Gone, a plastic spatula, and a Sunday afternoon.

If they’re on top (not clear coated), they’re quite easy to peel off. Of course, there’ll be lots of sticky residue behind. Best solution? WD-40. Strips off the glue in no time and won’t harm the finish. Just make sure to keep the spray off of your cables/chains/etc.

Try some of that super-sticky clear packaging tape. Take a piece of that and apply it to the frame over the decal. Smooth it out firmly with your fingers and then peel the tape off - if the decal isn’t under a clear coat, you should get at least part of it off. Repeat until it’s gone. Alternatively, you could try some citrus degreaser - it’ll dissolve the adhesive. Just be careful not to slop it all over stuff that you want to remain lubricated.
