Bike shops in Windsor area

Seeing that someone else recently posted a similar question…I have moved to the Windsor area. Does anyone know of a respectable bike shop with someone knowledgeable in fitting that’s not too far away. Thanks

Bikesport.

Ok, not being from the area…how far are you from Windsor? I have what I think is a misfit Guru, and was measured at their facility. Would you be able to help “tweak” this to a more comfortable, efficient ride. Pardon my ignorance on this one.

I used to date a young lady in Windsor, just north of Erie Street. It took 20 mintues to get to her place including customs at the tunnel.

We’re in Dearborn, exactly 1 mile west of the Southfield freeway at the intersection of Michigan and Mason just behind the Amoco station on the corner.

We have also learned, after a lot of hard work, how too size Gurus and we have done a lot of them.

Thanks…I will look up the contact info for your place and likely give you a call there tomorrow.

Border crossing at the bridge has been a breeze lately
.

Sigma Sport in Hampton Wick is the best bike shop in the whole of London, and sponsor of Spencer Smith!

I thought of the real Windsor too when I saw the message.

How did other people know he was talking about one of the want-to-be places instead?

No idea since he doesn’t have a location in his profile, I guess people remember that he was in their locale from an earlier thread. I am wondering which same sake town they can be on about I hae been to Windsor, Ontario years ago, but didn’t think Dearborn was close.

When you mentioned London, at first I thought you were talking about London, Ontario, which is about halfway between Windsor, Ontario and Toronto, Ontario.

Nice try, but as every school boy knows, London is the Capital of England which pre-dates London Ontario and every other London by in excess of 500 years. If you want to use the original Roman name of Londinium or the same conurbation we could add, oh another 900 years.

Anyway which one is close to Dearborn, and Tom D?

I’ll second the Bikesport comment. I drove from Toronto last fall to Tom D’s shop (he was having a killer sale, there was a very strong CDN $, and I conveniently “forgot” to declare my bike at the border…saved me close to $1000).

We chose to stay in Windor overnight. Do yourself a favour, if you do go (and take Michigan Aevenue through Detroit), schedule it so you’re driving (both directions) in the daylight. Downtown Detroit, particularly around Tiger Stadium, is a very sketchy place. And take the tunnel, not the bridge.

It was about 30 minutes from customs to Bikepsort…but there was construction.

Here’s a map with Bikesport marked. If you zoom out, you can see Windsor, Ont is just about due East, less than 20 miles away. London is a bit farther, a couple hours out the 401.

Do yourself a favour (note Cdn spelling), do not take Michigan Ave all the way to Dearborn. Take the bridge and take I-94 west (to Chicago), exit @ Oakwood Blvd. Take Oakwood north (past FoMoCo and Henry Ford Museum) to Michigan Ave. This will be the set of lights just north of the overpass on Oakwood. Turn left on Michigan Ave and look for Mason, it;s really close. Take a right on Mason and… “Voila”…your there. I’ve gotten there in 15 min after clearing US Customs.
