Bike shop in newport rhode island

hi there, i completed my first half ironman.
and now looking to make some progress on the bike leg.
of course that comes through more training, but a new bike can’t hurt right?

does anyone know of any good shops in rhode island, that’s willing to take this newbies money?
i’d rather buy in a store, so i can get properly fitted.

your best bet is to head north- try fast splits. They deal primarily in Tri. You can also try Landrys- they do a little of everything. East Providence bicycle is closer but cater mostly to road and family riding. The service at Fast spits is great and the bike choices are too. It will be worth the ride to get the right bike and fit.

Take a ride over to NBX (Boston Neck Rd - Narragansett). About 15 minutes from Newport and very easy to get to. Matt B knows his stuff has a pretty diverse selection of rides. They are really trying to do right by the tri crowd and have been the bike support for IM Rhode Island and a couple of other local tri events. Very happy with the service end of things with them also.

I’ll second NBX and Matty, definitly a good choice. A great shop that is involved in the local triathlon/racing community. My buddy bought fully loaded felt B2 from them a while back that looked soooooo sexy.

Also, definitly check out Caster’s in Warwick on Post Rd. Adam is a CAT 1 rider that knows a thing or two about TT bikes. The owner, Reed will literally spend hours with you trying to find the best fit for a bike. Then another couple hours with you fitting it once you get it. Lifetime of free tune-ups in the off season can’t be beat. You can also ask for the aussie, Bret who used to be a contender in his prime at IM Hawaii.

try providence bicycle on branch ave in providence.

Adam is the MAN!

If you want a LBS the owner of TT Bike Fit has a cool automated bike fit set up where the stack and reach of the fit bike can be changed in real time via his computer. http://www.trifitlab.com/

If you don’t mind traveling to Boston’s North Shore, I think there’s no one who does fitting better than Fit Werx in Peabody. Getting an appt with Dean may not be immediate but worth any wait.
