Bike Setup question?

A friend is a new triathlete. She has a swimming background, with a fair amount of not so competitive running (low-mid 40’s 10K). She recently bought a Trek 2200 (No aerobars) and can’t climb hills for $hit. Based on running background, would it be better to ride a fast fwd seatpost? She can run up a hill, can’t bike up one to save her life. This would of course be accompanied by spin-training on the local bike track as well as not so steep hill repeats.

So: Without aerobars, go seatfwd or not? When should aero bars be added? I’m pushing for this, but she is not very confident about her balance and our local roads suck.

Input/ideas appreciated.
