Bike Rack Top Tube Question

My husband and I really need to get a hitch-mounted bike rack for our car (getting a truck is not an option). The frame of my Giant Aeryn (and his Cannondale Slice) has a flattened aerodynamic shape, and we are not sure that the tube-top frame adapter that is being ordered will fit. Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know of a frame adapter that would fit?

It’s my understanding that carbon fiber bikes (which I believe the Slice is) should not be held by their top tube!

That is what an adapter is for–to avoid holding the bike by its top tube. It’s a fake top tube that attaches to the seat post and the top cross piece of the steering fork. My seat tube is a very unusual shape, so I’m not sure if any of the adapters out there will work.

Check out this thread. It may have some suggestions and alternatives for you.
