New P3. Seen some pictures with the race number hanging off the back like a flag off the seat post. I can’t seem to find anything online. Anyone have a link?
The Welshman is right - vonDrais is the best - fits any post -uses zip ties. vondrais.com for info and orders. eBay has a bunch of cheaper ones but you want to make sure they fit the seat post you have (some only fit round road style) and that the rubber strap is long enough. Some come without a “plate” to stick the number onto but that is easily made from any flat sheet plastic (side of a 1 gal. milk jug).
I’ll tell you my secret for the P4 if you’re racing Ironman brand. I don’t use their bike sticker. I use the extra bag stickers they give you and it works like a charm. Or, if I don’t have any extra bag stickers, I’ll just cut the bike sticker.
If you run one of these in IM event, do you still have to put the bike number on the frame of bike in another location or will this meet the requirment of having bike number on bike.

Ordered. $19 total. Sweet.
How many races before I get a new plate? I assume the numbers don’t come off easily and you end up with a thick stack over time.?

Put a layer of painter’s tape under the sticker with enough exposed that you can grab it and the sticker doesn’t stick to the plastic. Apply the bike sticker on top of the painter’s tape, and remove it all post-race.

Okay, that’s the best “pro tip” I’ve read since “put a small bottle of Scope mouthwash in your T1 bag to get the the salt out of your mouth”. Thanks Mate!!!
Has anyone tried putting the painters tape on the frame, and doing the same thing, without the plastic plate?

Yes, it works on the frame tubing and seatposts too. And helmets.
If you want to be really precise and not have a lot of tape showing, apply the sticker to the painter’s tape first, then trim around the perimeter of the sticker with scissors so there’s maybe a mm of reveal around the sticker, stick to helmet or frame.
We’ve used the vonDrais for many races and never had any trouble peeling the numbers off after the race. You can always hit it with a hair dryer for a few seconds if it’s over sticky.

I too have the Vondrais number plate. Here is what i found works great:
I apply some car wax, ie: Turtle Wax, Meguiars, Carnuba, etc, etc., to the number plate. Let the wax dry, then buff it. Then the race number decal will peel off much easier after the race and not leave any sticky residue.
