OK - I’m sure I will take some heat for this but…
I rode far to long and had far to little to think about on my lunch ride - looking down I thought - “why not a front wheel drive tri bike?”
so why not? just askin

There was a MTB several years ago that did a 2-wheel drive. Essentially it used a speedometer cable from the back wheel to the front (changing sides as it arced its way along). I think it was Bicycling Magazine that did a review on it. Basically said it was an interesting idea, but the execution left something to be desired.
Now there are hand-cycles that are front-wheel drive. But that’s a whole 'nother story.
harder to set up the drive train with front steering and crappy acceleration and climbing as your weight is all transferred to the rear of the bike. Cornering might be cool though.
