I clean my chain ever 100 miles or so…or after every “long” ride in addition I apply a light lube to all the pivots of the derailleurs at this time because I use a 1/1 ratio of simple green to clean my bike and this ensures they stay smooth. Cables really depend on use and weather but general rule once a year unless you are riding a lot (200-300+ miles a week then probably 6 months). Everything else I just do as squeaks appear. I grease my cas sette body as needed, probably 6 months. Most everything else is sealed bearings so a good cleaning every week takes care of it. The biggest thing is getting all of the grime and grit out of your rings, cassette and derailleurs so they continue to shift smoothly, actually for road type shifter, STI/Campy Ergo same thing, grime builds ups inside over time and you need a spray lube in there occassionally to flush it out and keep it running smooth. Also for brake pads you can use a file to rough them up every few months, this gets rid of the dried out brake compound on the surface.

Just rembemer Lube cheap parts are high.

Clean and lube your bike weekly, more often if the out side condition are poor: rain, snow with road salt/sand or salt spay for the sea.
Check air in your tires/tubes: full inflation before each ride for max perforance and tire and wheel life.
Change your every chain 1500-2500 miles for max cassette / chainring life and shifting performance.

If you do not have the needed tools or skills take it to a professional for a tune-up / o’haul a couple times a year.

Agree with the Doctor. If you are asking this question you need to develop a relationship with a professional who you can bring the bike to and let them look it over. Priceless
