I am 216 lbs, 6’1" and want a new bike, i had a specialized EPIC (carbon) great bike, but sold it a year ago, i bought a Multi material bike (aluminum/carbon) that cracked where the 2 material meet. What do you frame, material, should i consider buying (Road and tri)

Is 216 lbs really that big? Sounds more like a defect in the frame you had. I go between 210 and 220 and rode a Cervelo Dual about 3 or 4000 miles last year and loved it!
Now I have a specialized Allez (all aluminum). No problems.
If you compare with a lot of riders i think it is big. The factory is giving me a new frame, it is taking 2 months but they told me that they will send it by the end of the week, but i am not sure that i want to ride the sam kind of frame , i was thinking Titanium or carbon.
I am 6’3", 210lbs. I have a Moots ti road and a Serotta steel (w/ carbon stay) tri bike. They are both great bikes for a big rider. The Moots is very stiff for ti, yet has a very plush ride w/perfect handling. Because the Serotta is custom, it is also the perfect stiffness for my weight. The stay adds a lot of comfort, but because I have only had the bike for six weeks, I do not really know whether it is sufficiently durable-I assume it it is, because Serotta can be trusted. Steel is great, becuse it is widely available with custom sizing at a (relatively) decent price. If price is no object, I don’t think ti can be beat.
I have checked, they can not do anything about a different frame, they can upgrade it for a Ti, but i have to pay like $1,700.00 Bucks, that means that my frame is like $50.00. and i pay like $2,000 with ultegra and ksyrium. so i will sitck to the same o equivalent frame, the customer service is no that good, but a very nice guy from ST forum and i met him here is the one that is helping me. I don’t want to mention the brand (because of this ST friend), but is has been more the 2 months since they received it, and not news i am the one to have to call them and all that stuff
I ride a 2001 Lemond Alpe D’Huez (aluminum, pseudo aero tubing) and a 2002 Cervelo P2k. Both have been great. I weigh 215-220 and don’t baby my bikes (not too much, anyway). Both Lemond and Cervelo ( I think) now come with a lifetime warranty as well, so you don’t need to worry about either.
