Were you VERY meticulous about making those measurements? Did you have a 2nd set of hands? Did you carefully read the instructions of how to make each measurement?
If YES to all of the above, then trust these measurements.
You have a 28" inseam and you are about 5’ 8"? I can believe that you have been on a 52-54cm road bike, and I can believe that would translate in to a 49-50cm tri bike.
I was very careful and did follow all instructions…welll i dint have a second set of hands though…but i have ridden a 53 cm road bike but my tri bike was a medium argon 18 mercury and i thought it was ok…well i guess a 50 or 51 wouldnt be to bad…maybe a 51
oh and i am about 5`9 and my inseam is about 29
.
what size stem did you have on the medium bike?
were you compact ala Torbjorn or stretched out like Faris Al Sultan?
go pay for a bike fit…you don’t have the common man diagnose disease do you? Oh wait, this is ST…
Don’t use CC for tri bike fit.
If your inseam measurement is correct you need to be looking for very long frames, probably low too. You will likely be best to go for a frame that is a bit big vertically and find a way of making the bars work.
But you really should see a fitter first, it appears you have an unusually long torso
I am going to reply to all post here…i was stretched out but i do have shorter arms than most and i do have a longer torso as ive been able to touch my toes and beyond for years…I also was fitted by a fitter on my argon mercury and thats probably why i was so comfortable on that bike and i will be fitting myself on my new bike i get as well but im thinking of buying used and want a size than i will fit into it. Just wanted to find a good size frame first because you can fit one yourself onto a variety of frame sizes but one will fit best
also pretty cheap shot at st taken
