Bike FIt by Paul Levine at Signature, anyone?

I’m in the marktet for a bike fit and Slowman says Paul is the best on the east coast. Anyone have any personal experience with Paul?

If you are on the east coast and looking for a bike fit, Paul is the best! Both my wife and I have both been fitted for road and tri fit. My wife also purchased a custom serotta tri bike. Paul is personable, easy going and very knowledgeable. Paul runs and I think owns the Serotta fit school, which is the premier fitting school in the country. Bike fitting is Paul’s business.

Bike fit takes a few hours, this not the type of service you would experiencein most bike shops. The process begins with a thorough examination of your strengths, weaknesses, goals and experience. Paul then takes the time to measure your flexibility, including some time on a chiropractic table. Then on to the bike. The rest of the time is spent, having you get on and off the bike a number of times while Paul watches, measures and adjusts.

The end result is a position that is right for you, that I am sure you would be happy with. As I stated above my family has fitted 4 bikes with Paul and we couldn’t be happier. I had been fitted in the past with a number of different shops and since these fittings there has been no need to tinker. These fits are as comprehensive as it gets.

If you would like any more information, I am happy to give more feedback or you should just call Paul, he is really easy to talk to and will give you lots of great information.

Paul isn’t one of the best on the east coast, he is one of the best in the world. He has a unique understanding and appreciation of the dynamics of weight distribution and how the body interfaces with the bike.

If I were travelling to get a bike fit, Paul would be on my very short list of people to do it. He may be the best, and is definately among the best, in the world.

As a triathlon coach I recognize the importance of a good bike fit, and do them myself for my athletes. I have been to both the Serotta Elements and Advanced bike fitting schools, led by Paul Levine and found his professionalism to be surpassed only by his ability to find the optimal position for a rider on a bicycle. He’s one of my most valued and trusted cycling resources. Paul relies on tangibles when he fits bikes to his athletes, meaning individual peculiarities including a rider’s body size and shape, joints’ range of motion, postural alignment, pedal stroke & cadence, power output, aerodynamics, riding style, experience & frequency, specific race / recreational goals, and equipment preferences are evaluated and addressed during the fit session. The result is that the rider’s position on his/her bike is as intimately wedded to that particular rider as is possible — like hand in glove. Further, Paul has comprised a team of other professionals, researchers, who are constantly mining international studies for cycling-specific and applicable information on aerodynamics, neurological patterning, physiology, nutrition. He consults regularly with arguably the best frame builders in cycling, at Serotta. And, his manner is easy going and warm. If I were to buy a custom bike, I’d have Paul do the fit. In fact, last month I did just that — flew from LA to NY, got fitted and flew back in 36 hours. As you read this, my new, custom Legend Ti road bike is being constructed and when finished and built it will fit me to the millimeter. Before the triathlon season heats up I’m planning on having Paul work with me on the fit of my TT bike, a Softride Rocket TT7 — a different beast, altogether — as I know he’ll help get the most out of my bike, body and fitness.

I have been to Paul on more than one occasion and he is both very professional and very good at what he does. I was refferred to him by a top sports orthopedist, who also happens to be a competitive age group triathlete himself. Since seeing Paul, I am a lot more comfortable and I am producing a higher wattage on the bike. His services are well worth the price and I have recommended him to many friends.

I am the director of the Triathlon Training Institute and Club at Asphalt Green in Manhattan, and Paul Levine is the provider of our on-site bike fitting service, as well as a regular presenter at our seminar series. I cannot speak highly enough of Paul’s professionalism, knowledge base, and ability to communicate effectively with both the elite and novice cyclist and triathlete. The fitting school that Paul runs is based on a curriculum co-designed by orthopedic specialists, biomechanics experts, cycling professionals, and others…and the implementation of this curriculum, whether for the training of bike-fit professionals, the education of athletes, or the performing of bike-fittings, is best done by the guru himself. If you have a chance to get a bike-fit with Paul, take it!

I drove 4 hours to be fitted by Paul, and like the others said, it was well worth it. Learned a lot and feel real good on my tri bike.

Three years ago,I was turned on to Paul Levine by a fellow Long Island triathlete. I came to Paul thinking that my best biking days were behind me. I was having constant lower back, shoulder, and neck pain. However, with great pleasure I discovered that this was all due to not being properly fitted on the bike. After a detailed, three hour plus session with Paul, I was immediately on my way to riding with no discomfort and total confidence to push hard once again. As a competitive triathlete and coach, I feel compelled to share with my fellow triathletes and clients my experince with Paul Levine’s professional bike fit. Paul’s knowledge and understanding of proper biomechanics as it relates to peak performance on the bike has become my “mantra” when reccomending Paul. This has proven most beneficial for my ironman triathletes who spend countless hours on the bike. Their increase in power, comfort and speed has resulted in faster bike splits. This in turn has also increased thier ability to run faster off the bike. I am convinced that a proper bike fit can have a rippling effect on one’s overall performance and is a key to sucess. I will continue to recommend Paul 's services as an asset to the multisport community.

Paul was great in fitting me for my tribike. He does a very detailed assessment of your needs and abilities before you get on the size cycle. He not only talks about what your goals are, but also measures flexibility. Once on the size cycle, it is quite scientific. He makes sure everything looks correct and comfortable from all directions. He is very thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. I learned a ton from talking with him a few times.
