Need a new bike computer - the old cateye Mity gave up the ghost last week.
Is there anything new and cool out there that the gizmohounds would recommend? Wireless might be nice, but I don’t need cadence or HRM integration.

Cadence, IMO, is more valuable than speed. I’d take cadence over speed any day. VETTA V100 has great reviews. VDO also makes some nice ones. I’d look at those two. Both are fully wireless.
Take a look at Vetta. Seems pretty high on the geewiz scale. Wireless too, although if you’re around power towers you might have problems.
I agree that speed is a totally useless metric. In fact, in most cases, in racing it is detrimental as people try to maintain constant speed and continuously yo-yo their power output between 100W and 400W. Cadence combined with HRM is the best way to go. The VDO cadence computer is available from Mountain Equipment Co-Op here in Canada for only $41.
