Maybe I’m missing something completely obvious, but how does one adjust, or does one adjust, the location of the shifters or stem length etc on bars that are integrated? (Not sure if that is the correct “bike terminology”, but I’m refereing to bars that are one piece and include the stem. Like the Profile Design Carbon X monocoque wing)
With a typical set up you can change out the stem and bring it close or further etc. Is this not possible with the one piece setup? Is there other adjustment? Or you just damn well better be fitted proper right off?
My old Vision Techs that I used on my TCR for awhile were also a one piece bar with no adjustment. They came in four sizes and fortunately the size I had seemed to work quite well. I liked my Profile Aerolite clip-ons because they were adjustable although they never seemed as comfy as my non adjustable Syntace C2’s.
I dont know that anyone has ever seen a 120MM Carbon X though - I know I had tried to get one for 2 years and was not able to get one - not even direct from Profile. If you do get a bar that does not adjust - you can simply cut them down - even the carbon ones. I had a bar from Francois that he even bored out the Al on the inside of the carbon on a Carbon X extension…nice.
