Biggest Loser - Spoiler

Last season Aly said “I’m going to be the Biggest Loser” and she did. I think Ron’s right.

I would like to see Mike win, but, not sure that is going to happen. I mentioned on another thread about a comment Jill made to the local DJ about a week ago when she was on the radio. She was promoting her book about metabolism and talking about metabolism of women. She said something to the effect that her plan works, as evidenced by the fact that she had back-to-back female winners and “it could soon be three in a row” or words to that effect.

Yeah, that could mean nothing and, I believe the finally is in real time, so, she should not know the outcome, but, I thought the comment was interesting.

I think he’s right as well, I just didn’t think it was a good idea to make the comment, but that’s my opinion. Not that I think it was a huge mistake, as the others in the group already don’t like him. I’m not a big fan of trash talking or trash talkers. I’m more of a walk softly can carry a big stick kinda guy.

I agree that trash talk and backstabbing isn’t desirable. All that considered, I’d love to have Ron fighting to keep me on the show. He gets results. Can’t deny it.

I’m glad Helen stayed. She’s the biggest surprise.

She and Tara annoy me. Helan is hiding from her life on the ranch and knows once she goes home it will be a battle to keep on the straight and narrow.

Helen annoys me too. I still like Tara though, and hope she wins.

As for Ron, you can’t tell me he didn’t know his comments at the end (to Mike in private) weren’t being recorded. It’s all scripted. All he had to say to Mike was “Hey, I promised Cathy that I wouldn’t vote off Kristen. I am going to keep that promise. You do what you need to do though” wink wink. He’s the source of the drama this year. It’s in the script.

I don’t think the contestants are scripted but I do think that the producers are making it out that way in how they’re presenting the show. I also think Ron tried his best not to have his comments recorded or they wouldn’t have recorded it through a bathroom door and had to subtitle it so you could understand it. I agree that he could have coaxed Mike into doing what he wanted without having the conversation.

Any chance someone could give me the highlights of last night’s show? The hockey game went into overtime (yay Canucks!!) so I didn’t get a chance to catch even the end.

I gather Kristen got voted off, the Ronfather still controls everything, and Mike is still a nice kid. Phillipe didn’t do/say anything stupid? Helen didn’t binge eat/drink/smoke then get all remorseful about losing control? Did Tara win all the challenges? Enquiring minds want to know!

Wow, you are good!!! seriously, you nailed the show in your guessing. Kristin went home with a bitter speech at the vote, Tara won $10,000 in the challenge, Ron made sure Mike voted the way he needed to in order to send Kristin home. Filipe was kinda quiet and Helen cried as usual.

The Ronfather even announced that his son will win the whole contest. Someone is waking up with a horse head in their bed tomorrow…

But you can’t convince me that Ron didn’t think or know he was being recorded. I think that was all a part of the drama. It looks sneakier than filming them saying it to one another in their room.

If you’re asking me if I think that the producers could have recorded the initial conversation in their room then asked them to have it again in the washroom, I could buy into that.

Or it could be that Ron was thinking they couldn’t hear outside the bathroom door, he’s not a rocket scientist.

“he’s not a rocket scientist”

He’s the Ronfather, he knows all. Seriously though, we are talking about a guy who allowed himself to be filmed in various poses for a Godfather type montage a couple episodes ago. He is basking in this role and I have no doubt that conversation with Mike was planned to be recorded.

I loved the way Kristin called Mike out by saying he picked her so he could take the easy way to victory. She was trying to get into it and he just nodded his head in agreement.

Mike is too smart and way too nice to get into it with her, but, he could have rebutted that pretty easily. Kristin lost 1 lb last week and was +1 this week. She may be the biggest person in the house, but, not sure she is the biggest threat. Plus, I believe she has been home for 2 months and has only lost 15 lbs. So, not sure she was really the biggest threat.

Agreed. Not sure if Kristin is that big a threat.

With that, how can someone fault Mike for voting that way. If he has an excellent chance at a big payday and perceives Krisitin as a bigger threat he CAN AND SHOULD vote her off. 99.9% of the population would do the same thing. I would.

Further, Kristin came across HORRIBLY at the end. She didn’t call Mike’s decision cowardly… she called HIM cowardly. Kristin, you are the coward as you can’t get the job done despite being in a position to win the game. I am incredibly happy she is gone. She looked AWFUL in those last moments… nonsensically.

Also, a quick note on Helen. She is a little annoying, but I lost 100% of any respect for her when she sent her daughter home instead of herself. SHE IS AN AWFUL MOTHER. If I’m mordbidly fat and my son is morbidly fat, and one of us is going home with less of a chance of making a life chage, its me, not him.

I want Tara or Mike to win. Everyone else has had thier moments with me.

I AM A BITTER AND ANGRY Biggest Loser FAN. HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I agree 100% re: Helen - I cannot believe that as a mother she is that selfish. Unbelievable.

Agree totally regarding Helen, she is very annoying. It looks like Kristin gets her wish of being a “motivational speaker”. Her bit at the end of the elimination was bizarre. Although I did feel sorry for her during the last chance workout when they were doing intervals on the treadmill. You would think that The Biggest Loser could have made sure she had a better sports bra - that just looked painful!

As a heterosexual male, I’m embarrassed to say I noticed that too…

For all you Ron haters or anyone else.

I am surprised no on has talked about the Mike / Ron discussion.

Personally, I think the show has done a wonderful job of editing to make the Ron Father. But yes I think he is doing what it takes to WIN it is a game after all. I think Jillian and Bob do not like that part, but its a Game with a weight loss factor. Not a Weight loss show with a game twist.

I’m not sure if Ron believed what he was saying to Mike when he accepted the blame for the kids being huge. It seemed more like he was blaming their situation but ultimately did not care why they got there, they were in a new place now with new knowledge and would not go back. Lets hope that last part is true, and they can bring their son/brother with them.

I’m not convinced that Ron accepted any responsiblity. Just because he coudln’t get it together is no excuse for feeding the kids huge amounts of (assumingly) unhealthy foods. The mother got her weight under control. She should have been having the kids eat better when she was losing weight. Even if she did have gastric bypass surgery, she would have to change her eating habits to keep the weight off. No excuse. I really like Mike, but I’m pulling for Tara to win. She seems like she’s really gotten it, and is ready to change her life when she leaves the ranch. I can’t believe Helen is still there. Personally, i think she is a bigger threat than Krisitin at this point. Kristen has been pretty inconsitant, and gained weight at 2 of the weigh-ins.

She seems like she’s really gotten it, and is ready to change her life when she leaves the ranch.

Maybe. Not sure. But, I have zero sympathy for Tara and A TON of sympathy for Mike. Tara was (relatively) skinny. She was a (plus size) model with a good, healthy body. Sure, she has a little bigger frame, but, she spent most of her life “normal” size. She only got huge in recent years. Variety of reasons, but, ultimately, she let it happen.

Mike never had a chance. He was born into a huge family with huge weight issues. Seems like they did nothing to help him or his brother. Mike has been fat his entire life (his words, not mine). Mike needs this. Mike is getting it. Mike will change his life, change his brother’s life, and likely never go back.

Maybe it isn’t fair of me, but, I just think Mike got screwed his entire life and Tara screwed up her own. I think he “deserves” it more.

I was disappointed in that whole Mike/Ron segment. If was almost as if I was watching a script play out. Perhaps that was because of the cameras. If anyone really thinks that a 2 minute TV segment is going to release all of Mike’s inner demons they have been watching too much of Dr. Swill.

All I can say is that because I am an idiot and want to see how it turns out, I will finish this season, after that I am done. I thought it was a wonderfull idea for a show when it came out, now it is just another game show, we have enough of those, if I want to watch whining bitchy drama and backstabbing I will go watch survivor, at least there the chicks are hotter.

Want to make me like this show again?

No teams, no couples.Show some better nutritional info than commercials for plastic bagsKeep the challenges, they are very rewarding and encouraging for the contestants and nice to watch for the audience.
No voting, fall below the line pack your bag, see ya at the finale. How Bob and Jillian actually talk about the workouts and why, show how they could be done at homeShow them using the damn poolIn other words make it about the weight loss not the damn game play.
