This year’s medal sucks, but the finishers T shirt is by far the best looking finisher shirt since I have been racing (2005).
I have been convinced for years that the finishing shirts were deliberately designed (and I’m not joking about this) to be ugly or uglier (which they consistently were) so that we would all spend money buy the much better looking finishers stuff in the merchandise tent (which we did). In past years, there has been a substantial difference in the attractiveness of the shirts handed out at the finish line and the shirts you could buy.
this year’s shirt is way, way better than any of the others in recent years.
I wonder if the person who ordered nice shirts for us was new and if their job is at risk for screwing up and ordering nice shirts.
I have to agree. I didn’t buy a single finishers piece and was completely stoked with the shirt. Would have been cool if the hat was the same color as well.
Love the shirt - and the hat actually. It’s probably me, but burgundy isn’t “athletic” but the shirt looks good and I love the feel. However, more likely to use the hat in the red color.
Certainly WAY better than last years shirts. I hope they have something really cool for the 30th!
Nice shirt but pretty small. Even the large is tight on me. I’m built more like a linebacker than a triathlete and I wasn’t the biggest racer out there so it’s doubtful the shirt fits everyone.
Totally concur that the medals sucked, but the shirts and hat are good.
The poster we got was also very lame - don’t know why I cared coz I didn’t have any intentions of keeping it, but was disappointed with the images like some newbie designer from the '70s had done it, not sure how it got the thumbs up for printing - immediately went into the recycling.

What I find odd and encouraging about all the negative posts about IMC this year, particularly the missed water threads, is that many of the posters, who suffered because of the lack of water, also said, in the next sentence, that this was the best triathlon and Ironman race they had ever done!
This is a testement to the overall greatness of the event. Sure msitakes were made, the organizers have admitted this and apologized, but there are so many extraordinary great things about IMC, to over-ride these unfortunate, and most assuredly never repeated mistakes.
