I was tinkering with the idea of buying either a 12-25 cassette or a smaller crank to help with hill climbing. Any opinions over which would likely give me the most benefit? Is this enough info or do you need more? I am not a strong hill climber at all so I would like something that will just make it easier to climb, not climb faster or harder.
Go with a different casset for a compact crankset. I would keep the crank length the same.
I just swapped my 12-23 cassette out for a shiny new 13-26. Rode it 4hrs yesterday as part of my 6.5 hr brick, my legs definitely felt better afterwards, and the hills are easier to spin up (and power over the top as appropriate). A good decision. I’d try the cassette route first since cassettes are a heck of a lot cheaper than cranks. I know Campy even makes a 14-28 cassette.

Thanks Andy…I was leaning that way as well.
I have 12- 27 which works great for me.
