anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced santa cruz hotel, hopefully near the boardwalk/transition area. Oh yeah, has to be dog friendly!
Unfortunately, “reasonably priced” + near boardwalk/transition area = fleabag.
I’m staying at the Ocean Pacific Lodge, which advertises that it allows dogs. That, the Beachview Inn and the Bayfront Inn are the closest to transition (don’t know about dogs, though). None of these is particularly posh or cheap, but they’re the cheapest nearby. The Seaway Inn and the Coast Santa Cruz are close and nicer, but also $$$. There’s also an Econo Lodge and a Ramada nearby. Riverside Ave has a ton of chain hotels which might be dog-friendlier, but I’d guess it’s a mile or so from transition.
