Anyone else have their feet GROW due to triathlon/running?
In the past 2 years, my feet have grown from a 13 to a 14. At first, I thought they had just changed the sizing jigs at the manufacturers of my running shoe, but I’m now a 14 in all my shoes.
A salesguy at my local running store told me it’s not uncommon for those increasing their mileage to have this occur. Before finding shoes was really difficult. Now it’s impossible.
The greatest injustice of it all is that despite my fin-like feet, my swimming has not gotten any faster, and I’m still the slowest guy in my master’s group with a kickboard.
They probably just flattened a little bit. Or you like more comfortable shoes.
I went from a 36-37 to a 38 after my first year of marathons/ultras. I buy 38.5 for running shoes so I dont bang my toenails as much, but I can still wear 37 pretty shoes.
13 to 14 jump here, during last year or two. I really noticed it last year though. I believe the size change came with age. My foot probably didn’t grow, but it settled…
All I have to say is that having size 14 feet is a major pain.
my paws grew a little too, from an 8 to a 9.5 when I was doing high mileage running, and now at a 9 (in running shoe, high heels still an 8). my shoe guy tells me they widen and swell up with the activity. not exactly sexy, but is what it is I guess…
