According to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), as part of a bigger drug investigation, Olympic Silver medalist Stephan Vuckovic and his former girlfriend Anja Dittmer are under suspision and are being investigated.

That sucks…that’s the 3rd big doping scandal coming out Germany…after Nina and Juergen (there were a couple others, one duathlete guy and the german dude that owns a bike shop and was top ten in France…forgot the name)…now two high profile german triathletes…

this is going to hurt every german triathlete sponsorship wise…

Apparenly both names came up in a probe taking a closer look regarding the guys connected to the infamous coach who already had been indighted and convicted for providing illegal substances to world class distance runners and sprinters (Springstein). They are now prosecuting a dutch manager and a spanish doctor, who had ties to Springsteen. Apparently both athletes were mentioned in materials found with the manager and/or the doctor.

Since, to my knowledge, that guy is “off the market” since 2003/4 (?), the findings could in fact cast another shadow on the Olympic Games in 2000 (Sydney) again.

So in the Triathlon debut at the Olympic Games it looks like that there were quite a few athletes who got there by using short-cuts…

My german is kind’a rusty, but I think that is what the article tries to convey…
