Big Bike Focus

Hi,

I have 10 days to train without interruption (my family are away). I have managed only an average of 18 KM a week on the bike this year! I need some cycling base. Any suggestions on the type and duration of ride? My AT on the bike is 155.

With average training weeks that low, no need to get tricky. Get on your bike and don’t get off. Dig as big a hole as you possibly can this week.

The catch is, it won’t matter one bit if you go back to such minimal training next week.

I know - I often swim more mileage per week than I bike! I need to keep consistent - my bike doesn’t blow chunks, but with training I obviously can be faster… I will keep the HR down and just get some mileage in. Thanks.

Don’t hold yourself back. Ditch the HR for the week and go ride. If you feel strong ride strong, when you’re tired ride easier but keep your butt in the saddle.
