Hey everyone- taking a trip from the East Coast out to Big Bend Natl. Park and thinking about riding THIS ROUTE. Anyone know if it is “safe” (relatively speaking (is any place safe these days)?

It’s a relatively safe route. The roads w/in the NP are excellent two-lane paved roads w/ low MPH limits. However, not much of a shoulder at all. I definitely wouldn’t do this any time May to Aug/Sept as the heat is awful, nothing to stop wind, not shaded at all and water is limited. Any other times it’s excellent. Ck out Big Bend State Park for mtb trails. It’s beautiful out there.
