Anyone reccomend some good books on bicycle repair/maintenance. I really know very little about it and I want to learn. My goal is to learn enough to build up my next ride myself.
Most will rec Zinn and the art of bike (road) maintenance.
Some will recommend the Park blue book.

I’ve learned a lot from the Park Tool repair website.
I actually took the Park Tools sponsored repair class. It covers everything soup to nuts. It’s not really rocket science but having someone show me how to repair things was much easier (for me) then reading it in a book. It’s not cheap but if you ride a bunch and are not afraid to get your hands dirty it will pay dividends down the road. If you go on the web site you can find out if it’s offered in your area.

And when I am 50 km into a 150 km ride and not in cell range how does this help? I am not looking to replace my LBS mechanics - they are quite good, I just want to learn how to look after my ride a little better.
