So many to choose from…‘In the Light’ is an epic but ‘In My Time of Dying’ is my personal favorite from the album. The Wanton Song rips like no other…it’s up there with ‘Rock and Roll’ (my favorite Zep song of all time) for fast paced grooves.

+1 for The Rover. That guitar riff is just amazing and I don’t think any band ever had a singer and guitar player mesh so well together.
How can you choose a favorite. It’s a masterpiece cover to cover. But I have a soft spot for Black Country Woman after seeing him play it live several years ago.
It would be Kashmir but the song got overplayed.
I’ll go with In My Time of Dying.
Wanton Song just for the drums.

Ten Years Gone or Trampled Under Foot depending on my mood.
Agree on The Wanton Song, that’s one that I find if I hear in the car the mph goes up a bit. Love the riff that Page and Jones hit and love Bonzo’s work on it also.
The Rover has such an awesome intro before the first vocal kicks in.
Trampled Under Foot and Houses of the Holy two favorites as well.
Love this album. When I first got it, was definitely Kashmir, Wanton Song, Houses of the Holy and Trampled Underfoot. Now it’s In the Light… love the different instrumentation and I find myself singing along to Night Flight (wouldn’t have years ago!!)
I always skip Down by the Seaside.
When are they ever going to do a reunion. I was born too late to ever see them live, in their heyday, which just kills me…
In The Light.
Just saw the group “Great Moments In Vinyl” last week. They play classic albums start to finish. They did Physical Graffiti and it was pretty good. The lead singer was female and did a good job of catching the essence of Robert Plant. The weakest link was the drummer; he was no John Bonham.
I listened to the LP twice leading up to the show. Zep’s best, and Bonham’s best.
Impossible to pick one best song but I’ll go with The Rover and Black Country Woman as my favs - oh, and Custard Pie too.

Mellow mood: Down by the Seaside.
Coincidentally, my partner just put on Physical Graffiti as we were driving home yesterday and we were discussing the album.
I doubt Zep ever got heavier than Wanton Song, though I do love the first side of the second disc. In The Light, Bron-Yr-Aur, Down By The Seaside, Tens Years Gone. It really captures the diversity of the band.
Given several of Physical Graffiti’s songs didn’t make it on to the albums for which they were originally recorded, it’s astounding to think that LZIII, IV and Houses of the Holy could have all easily been better albums.
It’s the Zeppelin album I most frequently return to. My favourite track changes with mood and time.

Listened to the 8 songs recorded for the LP January–February 1974 at Headley Grange, Hampshire. (the new songs)
Custard Pie, In My Time of Dying, Trampled Under Foot, Kashmir, In the Light, Ten Years Gone, The Wanton Song, Sick Again (in that order, others removed)
Those songs alone would have made a great album (although they wouldn’t fit on a 40 minute 2-sided LP). “the belters” as Robert Plant referred to them.
