just my own personal observations over the years, more pro’s are using Conti Comp GP’s then any other tire. Personally I have used GP’s for about 17 years and they have never failed me yet. Before that I used Wolber Pro SP1’s, but they became hard to find.
best place to buy the GP’s, www.biketiresdirect.com, $64.95
Normally I try to use my local shops, Nytro, B&L and Supergo, but when they are selling the same tire for nearly double…

Thanks for sharing that info as the Conti’s are my favorite and that is an awesome price!
If you don’t mind me asking…have you switched to Tufo tape, or are you still gluing?
thinking of going to tape myself on my new Disc.
Thanks,
Fish
I still glue them. I’ve never had a problem gluing the tubulars, so haven’t seen a need to switch.
For gluing a tubular I use a simple process. After stretching the tire by leaving it inflated on the wheel for 48 hours, I apply a light coat of glue to the tire and let it dry 24 hours. Then I apply a light coat of glue to the rim and let it dry about an hour. Then put the tire on the rim, inflate to 40 pounds, make sure it is aligned and then inflate to full pressure for 24 hours. All done. I find that by putting the final coat on the rim instead of the tire, it makes for a much cleaner process.
