Best triathlon training book I've ever read - especially for the beginner or those too intimidated to try - pretty funny too!

Slow Fat Triathlete, by Jayne Williams.

I’ve read Joe Friel’s blog for years, the Triathlon Bible and Going Long, and numerous other triathlon training materials, not to mention much sage advice from coaches, but this is really the best triathlon training book I’ve read so far, especially when it comes to attitude.

Why are you always selling something here?

Edit to add: or shilling for someone.

I’m not selling anything, it’s not my book and I don’t know Jayne Williams. I just found (and bought) the book that I stumbled upon by chance, and that I thought would be of value to some people. I especially liked the way it approached the subject of triathlons as a sport for all sorts of people. Not marketing, just a book I read and liked.

If that’s your starting point, I can’t imagine reading anything worse.

It’s a great book, very inspiring. Highly amusing, too.
