Twin Cities, MN. Hands down. I can walk out my door and ride 40, 60, 80+ miles on wonderful roads with 12-foot shoulders. Beautiful country. One of the most bike friendly areas in the country. The running and tri and cycling scene here is outstanding.
I never planned on living here, but I’ve been here almost 10 years now, and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
ETA: I lived in Quad Cities, IA/IL, then Iowa City, IA, then Madison, WI before moving here…so I am a midwesterner ar heart. I thought about leaving for one of the coasts, but I fell in love with my “new” state.
