Best Theme Party you've thrown

Weddings are excluded

Just for Danno I’ll answer

In my home a Mardi Gras party

Outside of my home only partial credit since several people hosted it: a College themed party when we were all in our late 20’s and early 30’s
.

We just hosted a pretty rad Thomas the Tank Engine themed party.

Kind of a non-traditional, moving party, but one year we were Miami Vice themed for a Poker Run. We all dressed the parts and I had a playlist lined up with a lot of Jan Hammer and Phil Collins.

My wife is all about the themed parties. We have had Fairies, Frozen, art and nature themed parties to name a few. At the recent harry Potter party, the other Moms said she could do it as a side business. It had quidditch, potions, wand making and more.

but maybe that isn’t what you were looking for.

D’Wife threw me a Surf themed surprise party for my 50th birthday

Hawaiian shirts & hula skirts, umbrella drunks, a beachily decorated cake

The MOST surprising part was that she had it in March — my birthday is on Halloween
.

White trash party

Everyone got a tin of Copenhagen, camo hat, and PBR
.

We used to hold a Jimmy Buffet/Florida Keys theme party every November…Good times.

We decided to discontinue the party after we found about 20 people sleeping in our house the next morning and we had no idea who they were and the kitchen ceiling was covered was covered with Rum Runners. I needed a painter to rectify that problem.

My 40th high school reunion had a pig roast, bon-fire, and axe throwing contest, as well as 4 kegs of beer, a lot of guns being shot in the air, and two women who ended up topless.

It was kind of like going to a 3rd world country for a family reunion. Does that count as a theme party?

I’ll be the stick in the mud here and say I hate theme parties that require costumes. That includes Halloween. Ain’t nobody got time for that. The furthest I will go is maybe, MAYBE, an ugly Christmas sweater party.

We are hosting a Baby Shark themed party for our 2 year old on Saturday :-).

I resemble that remark

I had friends like you so we did a Girl Drink Drunk party. You didn’t have to dress up, but your drinks had to meet at least two of the four “Girl Drink” criteria and be:
Brilliantly colourfulNauseatingly sweetWell accessorizedIn an interesting container
Lots of crazy blender drinks. At the end of the night people were putting anything that would fit into the blender. I think someone was drinking from a rubber boot. The next morning my slippers kept sticking to the floor due to all the spilled sweet drinks.

There were four of us in the house and we all big friend groups with little overlap so it was a huge party. And a horrendous hangover.

(For those not familiar, here’s the Kids in the Hall sketch)

Everyone’s a DJ party.

I set up a sweet DJ kit in the driveway, facing into the cul de sac, allowed party goers to play what ever they wanted at max volume, while everyone was in the house or backyard.
