I researched the best sunscreen for face as my dermatologist recommended that i start using a good daily sunscreen because i spend a lot of time outdoors and in front of screens. i have been experiencing oily skin, occasional breakouts, and irritation from heavy or greasy sunscreens. i went through reviews from trusted sources like reddit, byrdie, and wirecutter and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:
however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some skincare enthusiasts or people with sensitive skin on this forum can also share their advice. i usually need something lightweight for daily use that does not feel greasy or leave a white cast. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
I use the Jack Black double-duty face moisturizer SPF 20. I’m a flight instructor and always exposed to the sun. It’s not greasy nor does it leave a white cast. I love it.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I really appreciate the feedback.
My main concern is finding something that works well for oily and somewhat sensitive skin because a lot of sunscreens I tried in the past felt heavy, greasy, or caused breakouts after a few days of use.
The features I am mainly looking for are:
Lightweight texture for daily wear
Non-greasy and fast absorbing
No white cast on the skin
Comfortable under long outdoor use
Good SPF protection for daily exposure
Non-comedogenic so it does not clog pores
Works well under makeup or by itself
Minimal irritation for sensitive skin
The Supergoop one caught my attention because people say it feels more like a primer and gives a smooth finish, while the IMAGE Skincare sunscreen seems popular for hydration and daily protection.
The Jack Black moisturizer recommendation also sounds interesting since you mentioned it is not greasy and works well during long sun exposure. I may look into that too.
If anyone here has oily or acne-prone skin and has tried these products long term, I would love to hear which one performed better for shine control and comfort throughout the day.
I’ve personally used the Supergoop! Sunscreen SPF 40 - Glowy Primer, and it has been one of the better sunscreens I’ve tried for daily use. It feels very lightweight on the skin and has a smooth primer-like texture that blends easily without feeling thick or greasy.
Some features and benefits I really liked:
SPF 40 protection for daily sun exposure
Lightweight and fast-absorbing formula
Gives a smooth, soft finish on the skin
Works well under makeup like a primer
No heavy white cast after applying
Comfortable for long outdoor wear
Non-greasy compared to many traditional sunscreens
Did not clog my pores or feel overly oily
Helps give the skin a more even appearance
Easy to reapply during the day
I also found it reliable for everyday use because it stayed comfortable even in warm weather. For oily or sensitive skin, I think it’s definitely worth considering since it feels much lighter than many other SPF products.
