I recently took a water polo ball to the face while wearing my Oakley Minute’s, braking the frame. I’ve patched them together in true pocket-protectorish, full on nerd fashion, but the cycling club is starting to make fun of me. I need new sunglasses.
The glasses that tend to fit me best have smaller frames, like the Minute’s. As an all around tri shade built to these proportions, what is best? I basically want bulletproof lenses for the bike, but I don’t necessarily need interchangeable lenses as I already have a pair of Racing Jackets with orange lenses.
Right now I’m leaning toward another set of Minute’s or the Rudy Ekynox SX. Other ideas?
Oakley shows red frames with black lenses as well as black frames with red lenses on their website, but they do not offer them for sale. Are either of these styles on the market?
The M-frames actually do work very well on small faces and are probably the ultimate tri-glasses, try the Sweep or Hybrid S lenses.
Also check out the new Oakley Unknowns, very nice with a compact fit very much like the minutes, these fit perfect on small faces and look very cool. Kind of like a downsized Oakley Valve. My girlfriend has these and I really like them but they are way to small for me.
The Bolle Paroles are designed for small faces and you can get them a lot cheaper than the Oakleys. The ear stems are adjustable so they don’t sweep back so far if you have a small head.
Those are my top two… Native glasses are hard to find, but they are excellent for cycling and triathlon… and also likely in the same price bracket as your Oakleys for a polarized Native with a $20 replacement policy (you don’t like/break/scratch/etc them, send Native $20 and your old glasses and they send you a new pair). If you aren’t on a budget then the $250 MJ ST are the top of the line and are simply fantastic in every way possible.
