I use to be a huge for of the SLR but finally decided to go with something that had a little more padding for those longer days in the saddle. A bunch of guys I ride with are big fans of the Fizik. For whatever reason they never seem to work for me. What do people recommend?
I too might be looking for something else to try. I’ve tried the Selle Trilon (stock saddle), now a Fizik Arizone Tri 2 which thought was better, but still puts that pressure point and I’m horribly uncomfortable still, feels like I need to go back to a cutout seat like my regular road bike (Specialized Toupe gel). Guess the best option is to go on a long ride and then right into a shop and just tri a bunch then (although most LBS’s won’t carry too many tri seats…maybe dont need a tri seat)
I’ll be the first to call you out.
You’re asking the most generic triathlon questions possible in different threads. You’re doing this so people see your signature, which is indeed a classified ad.

FAIL.
I’ve tried Selle SMP, an SLR with braided carbon rails, Arione tri carbon, Profile design and a few others. I didn’t think the SLR would have enough padding but it was actually pretty good moved forward since it doesn’t have much padding in the nose. It seemed like I was less likely feel like I was sliding forward on it which I liked. Now I’m riding the Arione tri carbon but I cut the center out of the carbon base with a dremel tool and removed all the foam in the middle to relieve pressure. I rode one like this last year at Ironman Arizona with only tri shorts felt pretty comfortable. I’ll try it for a while before I probably switch to something else.
A very often overlooked saddle, but one which you might want to consider if you haven’t is John Cobb’s V-Flow Plus. It’s an excellent saddle, but not one that people think about when they first think of saddles.
i love my ISM Adamo saddle, i also have a specialized 143 allis which i like, but m y Adamo is perfect! i tilt the nose down just a touch and that allows me to hammer off the front end of it for TT’s or i sit to the back if its gonna be along ride! I’m 185lbs and use there race saddle, im also going to buy there road saddle as well!
