I feel like this is the perfect time to bust out Josh from Silca’s comment about comparing a disc wheel to the $20 raffle wine grab. You’re guaranteed to at least get a $20 bottle of wine, but in some cases you’ll get a $30, $50, or $200 bottle of wine. That’s the disc. Most of the time…yeah it’s not helping that much. But then sometimes, it helps a lot. Very course and condition dependent.
Unfortunate Update: blew up the disc in Boise last weekend somehow. I don’t remember hitting any potholes. I do remember conservatively approaching several speed bumps and one set of train tracks. Conservatively so I didn’t eject any bottles. No damage to tire, a little loss in pressure - but remaining pressure still exists as of last night with sealant. Finished the bike and didn’t discover the carnage until after the race. Bummed. No warranty.
PS - yes, I see I somehow mounted the tire opposite of rotational direction!
Looks like a warranty issue for sure. That a Premier Disc?
Did you buy it used? Regardless I would contact customer support and see if they have a replacement program like ENVE or Princeton etc
You’re not the first to say that @mike_s …and yes, purchased brand new 6 months ago. StG and Boise on it so far. I was told I can purchase new at a discount…
