Best place to tape a cannister to bike frame

I’m trying to figure out where would be the best place to tape a cannister of Vittoria Pit Stop onto my bike frame for a race. Any thoughts?

I ended up with it partially shoved under the seat and taped at the one end to the seat rails. The body rests on my under seat pouch.

I think I started the tape at the seat rail, spiraled it up the cannister and over the cap, then back down to the other seat rail. It has been there for several hundred miles now with no problem.

Probably won’t work well if you have a hydrotail or other rear mounted bottle though.

How about on the top tube right behind the stem, unless you have a Bento Box there. If so you can mount it behind the Bento Box along the top tube. Just use a couple pieces of electrical tape holds it in place, I race and train with it there and mount the spare tire behind the seat. Fold the end piece of the tape over so it’s easy to unwrap.

I tape mine under the top tube and up against the head tube. It tends to shift on top of the top tube.

You can get one of those “problem solver” type velcro things that has two rubber “C” looking attachements. It works pretty well, that’s what I have. Can’t recall what it’s called. Some use them to hold a pump, guess that’s what it’s really meant for.

I just attach mine to my seatpost which is pretty long.

IM Louisville I taped it with electrical tape under top tube.

Slightly of topic. Has anyone tired these with clinchers? Did it work out?

Tom D. has a pretty extensive article on the stuff on his bikesport site, which seems to suggest it works well on clinchers:

Nice article. Makes me feel better about racing with a tubular. The article metnions you could get even greater protection carrying the pit stop and a CO2. I don’t really care about the minimum added weight.

Has anyone used Vittoria Pit Stop and topped it off with some extra pressure?
